As a single mom of two children, I am a refined food addict and overeater in recovery. Over the years, I have been living with different mental illnesses like PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. In order to come out of the rabbit hole, I’ve been learning how to prioritize my Divine Self-Care.
Being my own best friend and learning to thrive is self-work that is worth effort. It took me many years to get to this point, and it will be a lifelong journey. Divine Self-Care these days is all about nourishing my body and my soul. From sustainably eating SOFAS-Free (Salt Oil Flour Alcohol Sugar-Free) to thriving in life by taking quality time for myself.

The nurturing love I show myself has a ripple effect in my life. I’m more selective about the things around me for my own good. My self-esteem, security in self, clarity of thinking, and decision-making have been dramatically improving. I have dedicated my energy to improve my relationships with my children and family. I stay pouring into my own energetic cup. The signs and symptoms of my various Mental illnesses have improved. I have more space to make adjustments in my self-care.
I don’t wear a cape, I burned it a long time ago. I’m an ordinary woman, learning every day, how to sustainably face extraordinary disorders, diseases and mental illnesses and figure out how to thrive in spite of these challenges. When asked to list all the people I love, I Finally name Myself First, and for a change. I am overjoyed to know it’s genuinely how I feel.
Putting my energy into divine self-care for myself has changed my life. Learning how to love myself will be a life-long journey and I’ve accepted that. Making self-care a priority in our lives is something we all deserve.
